COMMUNITY LEARNING

When Curious minds think of “empowering environments’ and supporting and extending children’s learning we often focus on the outdoors, giving the children the opportunity to learn from and be apart of their local community. It is important that children gain a sense of community from an incredibly young age, to learn to fit in, and begin to understand the value of local services, history, nature and job roles. Giving all children great learnig experiences, the local environment can provide an exciting context for first-hand experiences for all children.

 

The connections children make with their local environment can last a lifetime. Children who build these connection and values will hopefully take these with them throughout their lives and become community minded and responsible adults.
